Orientation 2020: Welcome to the OWHL

Introduction to the OWHL

Welcome to the Oliver Wendell Holmes Library, known as the OWHL! This Guide will introduce you to your library and the multitude of resources available to you.

The OWHL librarians are here to help with all of your research needs throughout your time at Andover. Though we may not be able to meet with you in person right now, we are eager to connect and invite you to contact us with questions any time you need assistance. Whether you will be attending classes online or face-to-face, we will be here to support you along the way!

Accessing PA Resources Remotely

You may access any of the OWHL's subscription databases & E-Books while off campus (with a few exceptions).

In order to do this, you must have the following:

  • Your BlueCard or student ID number
  • A Library PIN. Your 4-digit PIN number is the last FOUR numbers of your ID number

When you try to use a subscription database or an E-Book while off campus, you will see a screen that looks like this:

Your "Library Card Number or Username" is your BlueCard/ID number. The "Password or PIN" is that 4-digit PIN.

You can simply chat us to reset your PIN at any time.
