Brace Fellows Research Guide: Databases & Journals

**Reminder: if you can't access a journal, magazine or newspaper article necessary for your research DO NOT PAY FOR IT. Try your local public library - if possible - and if that doesn't work (or isn't an option for any reason) please email me (egoss@andover.edu). You should only pay for a resource as a last resort.**

Accessing Resources From Off-Campus

Since most of your research will be done off-campus, accessing any of the OWHL's online resources and databases is still possible, however, the system acts a little differently. Whenever prompted use your 7-digit, Student ID number (on the back of your blue card) for your library card number, and use the last four digits of that same ID number for your PIN.

Example:

User ID: 1234567

Password: 4567

Full Text Finder

If you have a specific citation for a journal, magazine or newspaper article, Full Text Finder is a great tool.

  • Click the link above, the image below, or the link below to access Full Text Finder
    • If you are accessing it from off-campus you will need to enter your library card number and PIN first.
  • Once in the database, type the name of the journal, magazine or newspaper into the search box to find out which databases provide access.
    • If you see results, be sure to look under "Full Text Access" to view the the data-ranges available through a given database; we don't always have access to every issue of a journal, magazine, or newspaper.
  • If your search does not yield the results you need, please contact me. I will make every effort to get the article for you. Do not pay for access to any articles!
