How to Schedule Instruction

OWHL library staff are available to deliver research and project-related instruction to your class!

You can reach out to a librarian for instruction, including the following:

  • Developing a research question
  • Brainstorming keywords
  • How to use OWHL resources
  • Learning the difference between primary, secondary, and tertiary sources
  • Finding books in the library
  • Citations
  • Note-taking
  • Outlining a paper
  • Annotated bibliographies
  • Website evaluation
  • Google search skills

Reach out to Archives & Special Collections for collaborations including:

  • Exploring primary sources, including maps, rare books, photographs, archival records etc.
  • Analyzing and interpreting School History
  • Creating class exhibits
  • Transcribing handwritten documents
  • Creating data visualizations

Get in touch with the Makerspace for:

  • Creating objects with the laser cutter or 3D printer
  • Designing landscapes and art
  • Fabric arts
  • Building and robots

Note: Please schedule classes with the library, Archives & Special Collections, or Makerspace at least a week in advance. It helps to have an assignment they'll be working on, but we can also suggest activities.
